I'm Pam Helm, owner of Heartworks
of York and this website,
Heartworksknits. Knitting is a
passionate obsession of mine. My
grandmother taught me to knit at
age ten, and then I picked it up
again about 15 years ago.

I love how fine yarns feel in my
hands and the creativity involved in
designing and selecting colors. I
love to knit outdoors under our
grape arbor, or at the park, or the
ocean. My favorite spot to knit was
on the deck of the Lewis R. French,
during a week-long Windjammer
cruise off the coast of Maine.
Meet the knitter...
Through the years, what a joy it has
been to have knitted caps and mittens
for our son, and then a lacy shawl to
wrap up our newborn grandson, and
little sweaters for lots of little friends.

And what fun it is to create colorful
felted wool handbags and decorate
them with antique, vintage and
handmade buttons, ribbons, lace, and
beautiful beads.

I'm happy to share some of my
favorite hand knits with you! New
items will be added soon and on a
regular basis!
